Since launching Harrison Stays, Harrison Agents has chosen to contribute beyond the day-to-day management of individual properties.
We are building an accommodation service that connects short-stay property management in Tasmania with corporate, mid-term and residential options. This allows owners to consider the most appropriate strategy for their property as their circumstances, the market and guest demand change.
That commitment is reflected in the appointment of our Curated and Corporate Stays Manager, Fiona Britten, to the Board of the Australia and New Zealand Short Term Rental Association for 2026–27.
Fiona Britten appointed to the ASTRA Board
The Australia and New Zealand Short Term Rental Association is the peak representative body for the short-term rental accommodation industry across Australia and New Zealand.
Its work includes industry advocacy, education, collaboration and contributing to discussions about the responsible and sustainable future of short-stay accommodation.
Fiona brings experience across visitor accommodation, short and mid-term property management, tourism and regional economic development. She holds a Master of Tourism, Environmental and Cultural Heritage and an Advanced Diploma of Business and is a licensed Property Representative.
Her appointment creates an opportunity to bring a practical Tasmanian and regional perspective to national industry discussions.
Bringing a Tasmanian perspective to national conversations
Short-stay accommodation operates differently across capital cities, regional centres, coastal communities and more remote parts of Tasmania.
Each market has its own visitor demand, housing considerations, operating conditions and economic role. Effective industry policy needs to recognise those differences rather than applying a single approach to every location.
Drawing on her experience in Tasmania, Fiona will contribute to conversations about evidence-based policy, professional capability and stronger collaboration between accommodation providers, communities and government.
Her appointment also gives Tasmania a direct voice within an organisation helping shape the future direction of the industry.
A broader approach to property management
At Harrison Agents, our role is not to place every property into the same management model.
Some properties are well suited to short stays during periods of strong visitor demand. Others may be better suited to corporate or mid-term accommodation, providing furnished housing for professionals, project workers, relocations or extended visits.
For other owners, residential property management may provide the consistency and structure that best supports their investment strategy.
